The first Christian Zionists in America are the Puritans, who identify with the Jews.
They look to the Old Testament for their laws and give their children Hebrew names.
American Christian Zionism will get its biggest boost from British theologian John Nelson Darby, who spreads his ideas in seven lengthy missions to North America from 1862 to 1877.
Other Christian Zionists will also have an important impact, including William E. Blackstone, whose Blackstone Memorial will influence President Woodrow Wilson.
