Zionism is rooted in belief in the bond between the Jews and their Land, which was given to them by God.
Yet, for much of Zionism’s history, most religious Jews condemned it. They did so because they believed the return to Zion would come through supernatural means.
Some religious Jews however did support Zionism.
After the Six Day War, it would be these religious Zionists who would play a central role in settling areas conquered in that war important to Jewish history.
