Christian Zionism
Before there was modern Zionism, there was Restorationism – the effort by Christians to use political means to restore Jews to the Land of Israel. It was based on the belief that the Jewish return to the Holy Land was a precursor to the Second Coming. Christian Zionism would have its greatest impact in England where it would become a major political and social force.
